Funding Agency: Empire State Development
Who gets the money: training provider
Amount: up to half the cost of any training
What can the money be used for: project that creates or retains jobs
Eligibility: small and large businesses attempting to meet the challenge of creating new products, entering new markets and improving production

Funding Agency: Oswego County Employment and Training
Who gets the money: goes directly to the school or provider
Amount: the cost of the training not to exceed $5,000
What can the money be used for: training
Eligibility: Must make below $18 per hour; must also show that there will be an increase in pay

Funding Agency: STRAP (Strategic Alliance Program)
Who gets the money: training provider
Amount: depends on the training and what the training is for
What can the money be used for: The training needs and costs are defined by the employer and are reviewed by both agencies for reasonableness and appropriateness.  These funds cannot be used for the acquisition of training equipment or for capital expenditures.  While there is no award limit, all requests for funds are tested on a cost-benefit formula.
Eligibility:
An employer or an employer in conjunction with a labor organization,
A strategic alliance, network or association of employers with common problems or concerns,
One or more local workforce investment boards established pursuant to  the federal Workforce Investment Act representing a strategic alliance
