‘The Evaluation and Franchising Committee shall oversee the One Stop Operator, set standards for centers and affiliates, franchise centers and affiliates, monitor continuous quality improvement and job seeker customer satisfaction in centers and affiliates, promote the franchised centers and affiliates using the Workforce New York branding, and monitoring system performance.’

 

Minutes

 

Present:  Don Unger, Dave Vickery, Evelyn LiVoti, Pat Tyrell, Sarah Irland Staff:  Jeff Grimshaw, Nick Della Penna

 

Don Unger called the meeting to order. 

 

Agenda Items

 

1) Approval of March 2, 2011 Minutes

Dave Vickery moved to approve the minutes.   Jeff Grimshaw seconded.  The minutes were approved. 

 

2)  Roundtable Update- All.  The committee also welcomed Pat Tyrell who has joined the group.

 

3) Oswego County Workforce New York Update- Nick Della Penna

Chris Weaver will be submitting the renewal application for the One-Stop Operator.  Dave Vickery, Sarah Irland and Evelyn LiVoti agreed to serve on the Review Team.  We will review the application and score/submit electronically.  If the application passes this step, a site review will be scheduled, probably in October.

 

4)  Performance Review- Pat Tyrell

We met all nine Common Measures for PY’10.  Sanctions were in place for those who failed to meet these measures, but no incentives were available for achieving them.  We met 3 of the 5 Customer Service indicators from which we expect to earn $37,000 in incentives.

 

5)  Customer Feedback Reports- Job Seekers, Training & Business- Pat Tyrell

The Customer Satisfaction Summary Report for Job Seekers for April – June was very positive.  Most of the responses fell into the Excellent or Good categories (146 out of 150 responses).   

 

Pat reviewed the Classroom Training report for the 4th quarter of PY’10.  The response rate was excellent- 23 surveys returned out of 75 mailed or handed out.  Responses were mainly positive.  Dave Vickery asked if we could get data on the response rate for each of the training providers.  Pat will look into this.

 

The Business Services Customer Satisfaction Survey results for the 4th quarter of PY’10.  The response rate was 8 out of 30 and all 8 responses were “Very Satisfied”. 

 

 

6)  Training & Center Activity Report- Pat Tyrell

Pat reviewed the modified report, including the addition of the comparison to activity from the previous year.  One –Stop Center traffic continues to be high.  

 

7) Career Ladder Map Update- Nick Della Penna

Nick stated that we are continuing to work with the SUNY Oswego Graphic Design Dept. students to help us with the re-design of the site.  We will also be working with a separate group from Oswego County BOCES in September. 

 

8)  Strategic Planning- Jeff Grimshaw

Jeff presented the matrix of ideas received from this process.  He asked the committee to review the bullets, and get with him with specific ideas for next steps.  Some items brought up by other committees included increased marketing efforts and the creation of a Speakers Bureau.  Don Unger suggested that we set up talk/tours at the job site versus do it at area schools.
