The Youth Council shall assist in developing the local workforce plan pertaining to youth and youth services, approving eligible providers of youth services, coordinate youth workforce development activities, and oversee public relations about youth programs.

Kathy Fenlon called the meeting to order.
Eric Bresee moved to approve the minutes. Dona
Falciatano seconded. The minutes were
approved.
2) Roundtable

All members presented provided an update to activities at their organizations.
3) Performance Review Jeanne Apicelli (DET)
Jeanne Apicelli reviewed the performance results for the second quarter of PY09, which ended December 31, 2009. We are meeting all three Common Measures for Youth. Our performance versus this standard has improved.
4) Youth Services RFP- Jeanne Apicelli (DET)
Jeanne presented the
Reviewed the recommendations for Year-Round Youth Services. Contracts that result from this process will
go into effect July 1, 2010, and go through June 30, 2012. Jeanne reviewed the ten elements of Youth
activities that can be funded under WIA.
We reviewed each recommendation separate, and voted on each separately
with agency representatives abstaining where conflicts existed.

5) Summer Youth Program- Jeanne Apicelli (DET)
Jeanne reviewed the plans for utilizing funding for this summer, due to lack of a State Budget and reduced federal funding it is anticipated that only 50 to 100 youth will be served this summer. Notifications have been sent to organizations that have used the program in the past to anticipate the need for alternatives to using the program for projects.
5) 2009 Youth
The Youth Summit panning is underway for October 21, 2010 in Sheldon Hall. The planning committee has met once and is researching plenary speakers, and workshop topics.
6) Career
