Modification of the
Individual Training Account Cap
Whereas, the Oswego County
Department of Employment and Training must adhere to the dollar limitation for
Individual Training Accounts and delineated in the Comprehensive Five-Year Plan,
and
Whereas, there have been several
plants closings in the past year and job seekers are requiring more training in
order to successfully re-enter the job market, and
Whereas, the cost of tuition at
training providers has risen over the last three years when the current
Individual Training Account limits were established, and
Whereas, other sources for training
tuition have been reduced or eliminated, and
Whereas, the Workforce Development
Board must review and approve any proposed changes to the Comprehensive
Five-Year Plan, and
THEREFORE LET IT BE RESOLVED, that on this day March 20,
2002, the Workforce Development Board of Oswego County hereby approves the
proposed change in the dollar limitation for Individual Training Accounts from
$4,000 up to $5,000 as proposed by the Oswego County Department of Employment
and Training.
