Whereas, the Workforce Investment
Act of 1998 requires a Youth Council be appointed by the Workforce Development
Board, and
Whereas, the Youth Council will
facilitate the provision of a menu of varied services, act as a catalyst for
broad change, provide balanced guidelines for the development of youth
programs, and help to form youth employment and training policy under the
approval of the Board, and
Whereas, the Youth Council will be
comprised of representatives from youth services agencies, education, juvenile
justice, labor, health, housing, youth, parents of youth, and other individuals
as deemed necessary,
THEREFORE LET IT BE RESOLVED, that on this day June 19,
2002, the Workforce Development Board of Oswego County hereby appoints James
Stevens (youth), Kevin Larrabee (youth), Dawn Smith (parent of youth), and
Diane Litchison (parent of youth) as members of the Youth Council.
